BA (Hons) Public Relations and Marketing Communications

This programme is delivered by Euroaula Escola Universitaria, in Barcelona. It is validated by Queen Margaret University and mirrors the programme of the same name delivered in Edinburgh. Through our rigorous quality assurance procedures we ensure that both programmes have the same academic standards.

The overall programme aims are:

  1. To offer high quality education for professional communication practitioners based on an interdisciplinary approach.
  2. To develop a deeper understanding of the relevant body of knowledge and students’ personal and professional skills in order to contribute to the development of the subject area, field and profession of PR and Marketing.
  3. To enhance students’ lifelong learning skills and personal development so they contribute to a sustainable society at local, national and international levels.

The programme is designed to meet the needs of employers, and has drawn on consultations with practitioners at panel events, recruitment fairs and direct communications via email.  Input was sought with regard to: key industry trends and developments; desired graduate attributes; and core knowledge and competencies needed to enter the profession.

Key features

Placements : Students are required to undertake an unpaid placement in the fourth year (150 hours). Support is provided.

Professional registration :ÌýStudents have access to industry networks, free industry webinars, podcasts, training and resources through membership of the CIPR and PRCA. Through the PRCA students can take the PRCA online Certificate for free.Ìý

Any other important points : The programme will be taught fully in English and dedicated English language classes will be offered to help build students’ confidence in using English in professional settings, and to ensure that they are well prepared to meet the demands of teaching and learning across the entirety of the programme.Ìý

Admission criteria

The standard entry requirement for students entering the BA (Hons) Public Relations and Marketing Communications will be the Spanish/Catalonian Secondary School Diploma (‘Titulo de Bachiller’), or equivalent qualification.ÌýÌýStudents should have obtained a minimum overall score of 6.0 (equivalent to 60%), and to have achieved a passing grade in English Language.Ìý

International students may be admitted to the programme on demonstrating that:Ìý

  1. They hold an equivalent qualification recognised by ¾«Æ·¶ÌÊÓ for admission to undergraduate programmes, as documented in the University Admissions Regulations.Ìý
  2. They have demonstrated proficiency in the English language, to at least the same level demonstrated by the Titulo de Bachiller.Ìý
